Keanu Reeves is perhaps the most beloved Hollywood star, at the moment. Twenty-two years after The Matrix, and thirty-two years after his breakout role in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Keanu is experiencing a renaissance of sorts. Or rather a “Keanaissance.” And we’re not afraid to admit we’ve watched nearly all of his movies.
The demand for Keanu reached a fever pitch in 2019 and 2020. In those two years, he starred in several blockbuster movies, including: John Wick 3, Toy Story 4, Spongebob: Sponge Out of Water, Bill & Ted Face the Music, Always Be My Maybe, among several other films. He also starred in the highly anticipated video game, Cyberpunk 2077, to the delight of fans and critics alike.
Contributing to his rising popularity could be a reason that many view him as a wholesome guy. He’s known for being an average Joe who takes the train and enjoys horseback riding and surfing, both hobbies inspired by previous movie roles. Keanu’s roles have made him into the star he is today, but his wholesome and relatable offscreen persona makes him even more beloved.
