Three Things You Didn't Consider About Marvel Movies
by Lewis Robinson
The motion picture industry has struggled to find consistency across multiple genres when grouping a collection of movies into a franchise. Recapturing the magic from the first movie is a challenging task. One of the exceptions to this fact is the overall success of Marvel's collection of action movies. Here are three things about Marvel movies that you may not have considered and will help guide you with a different perspective when you watch your next Marvel movie.
Marvel Movies Destroy Property and Businesses
When you watch a Marvel movie, the graphics, the action, and the suspense are three items that draw you in and keep your attention. When the good versus evil action scenes occur, they usually happen in the middle of a large city. The result of the action, albeit exciting, destroys a large portion of buildings and businesses along the way. Commercial insurance planning would be at the top of your to-do list if your company did business within a city in the Marvel universe.
Translating Marvel movies into reality, an extensive review of the damage to the cities would show hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. Some areas of the cities are destroyed beyond repair. Utilities would be impacted for months, if not years. The heroes of Marvel save the people of the world and remove the villains. However, Marvel heroes would leave the cities in economic ruin. Luckily, a computer artist can make problems disappear with a mouse click in the Marvel world.
Marvel Movies Drive a Successful Franchise
There are many reasons for Marvel's franchise and popularity success. Some people would already believe Marvel movies are successful based on the number of films made throughout the franchise. However, most may not be aware that these movies have grossed tens of billions of dollars, as there have been over twenty movies made to this point. The ability to continually produce one successful film after another is a remarkable feat that Marvel's competitors have struggled to duplicate, even on a small basis.
The Marvel franchise has retained over an 80% approval rating on many movie rating sites. Each step of the Marvel movie script is well-written to effectively present the scene, find the right pace to build the scene, and deliver a solid return at the scene's close with action and resolution. All of the money and popularity have resulted in Marvel being considered the most successful movie franchise of all time compared to other well-known franchises.
Marvel Movies Develop Strong Characters
You are drawn to specific characters when you watch any Marvel movie. This draw could be because you like the hero, or maybe you like the secondary characters. Either way, one of Marvel's strengths is how they develop and present the characters across each movie. Integrating essential human traits seamlessly into a film is an art that many people haven't been able to grasp, which limits the characters in their range. Marvel has conquered this problem.
The heroes are the primary characters people watch in the movies. What makes the heroes even more popular are the essential human traits that are added that allow all people to relate to each person in some form or fashion. A male hero may be able to destroy a building with his bare hands but not be able to have an easy conversation with a female character.
If you haven't had a chance to watch a Marvel movie, review the list of films that have been made. Once you grab your popcorn and start watching the first movie, you will be hooked and on a beautiful journey of discovery with each subsequent film. When you finish the movies, you will look back and appreciate the franchise's quality. At some point, you will go back and watch them over again and realize there were items you missed. Each Marvel movie is a gift that keeps giving each time.
