Audio-visual entertainment is the best way to get resourceful tips on home décor. It gives you a realistic feel of the place, the upholstery, the fixtures, woodwork, objects of art, and other things.

The Great Gatsby

Released in 2013

This romantic drama based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel of the same name had a stellar star cast. The film takes you through the life and times of millionaire Jay Gatsby (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), who often hosts wild parties at his palatial house to woo his love Daisy Buchanan (as Carey Mulligan).

The film showed glitz and glamour. But the most vital part to watch was the show-stopping Art Deco furniture style and contemporary and traditional forms. Mirrored, lacquered furniture with dramatic finishes, glass and metal used in accent tables, geometric shapes in upholstery, crystal vases, candlesticks, bold art posters, chandeliers, sofas, settees, and rustic farmhouse furniture in parts brilliantly captured the 1920s. You can get your home done in Gatsby-style by adding glimmer touches to your home. Metallic-sided glass coffee tables and furniture with a silky texture are points to borrow from this film and various interior design cues.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Released in 1961

This Hollywood classic is one of the most enduring movies, with the unmatched elegance of the legendary female co-star Audrey Hepburn. As Holly Golightly in the film, Hepburn’s pixie cuts and LBDs remain fashion inspiration to this day. But the blockbuster’s home design and décor offer major inspiration for homemakers.

Decorative tassels, animal print rugs, jewel-toned cushions, lattice cutout doors, crates, as cocktail tables are the finer points you can pick from the bohemian lifestyle of Holly Golightly in the movie. The tall wooden bookshelves for periodicals laced with artsy prints and abstract paintings are notable.

The decorative ladder is a quirky way to display your blankets and throws. The color palette of Holly’s apartment is clean white with limited accents of purple and hot pink. The bathtub sofa adorned with a purple seat cushion and pink throw pillows is one of the specific details of this movie. Repurposed items like natural wood crates for a side table and coffee table and a suitcase serving as a place to put up Holly’s telephone convey beauty in oddity.

Eat Pray Love

Released in 2010

‘Eat Pray Love’ is a cinematic rendition of Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestseller of the same name. The movie was a financial success. Actress Julia Roberts characterizing Elizabeth Gilbert plays Liz, who travels on a journey of self-discovery and happiness. The colors of Italy, India, and Bali featured in the film are striking. The classic American style in home décor is heart-warming. You will find soft blue and cream upholstery, dark wood flooring, dhurrie rugs, soapstone countertops in the kitchen, and sea-inspired accessories.

Crisp white tablecloths, a large urn placed in a room corner, an antique iron bistro make the viewer’s mind wander to the beauty and elegance of the décor and simply set furnishings. The movie showcases a color diversity in magentas, oranges, greens, and purples in creating an eclectic and appealing style in home decor. The look of the film inspires ideas for bedroom updates and a need to shed the layers of a programmed lifestyle. Apart from interpreting, you can adopt the film’s exotic décor choices into your own lives.

The Devil Wears Prada

Released in 2006

While this classic film is a must-watch for its ice-cold editor-in-chief played by Meryl Streep and aspiring young journalist Anne Hathaway, its traditional and contemporary treatment of interiors keeps you hooked till the last frame. The Manhattan look of the apartment rooms, the floral elements of the bedroom with black and white bedding, is a chic statement.

The rustic table decoration, American-style memorabilia, shelf-fillers, a flare of bold wallpaper to a classically decorated hallway, or quirky elements for small spaces are design trends this film on fashion and lifestyle teaches us.

Key Takeaway

Visuals and set designs play a significant role in entertainment. That’s why they are a bankable source of ideas for your home decoration. Most movies use a natural and studio environment to evoke different emotions. Watching these films will inspire you to decorate your home in the best way that suits you.
